The complaint was submitted by the Cyprus Conservation Foundation, the Cyprus Ornithological Society and BirdLife International in 2001 regarding plans to install a large communication antenna at Akrotiri, a UK military base. According to the complainants, this construction could affect a wetland of great ecological value.
