The Group of Experts on Protected Areas and Ecological Networks held its 8th meeting from 26 to 28 September 2017 in Belgrade at the invitation of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Serbia. The meeting have been preceded by the second meeting of the Ad-Hoc Restricted Group of Experts on Reporting on the Emerald Network of Areas of Special Conservation Interest.
The Group of Experts took stock of the progress achieved in setting up the Emerald Network and examined the extent to which reporting on the conservation status of species and habitats of European importance developed by the European Union under the Nature Directives is relevant to the Bern Convention/Emerald Network context.
