Some 30 representatives of government agencies, public bodies and civil society of Bosnia and Herzegovina met in Sarajevo on 27 February 2024 to discuss the implementation of the recommendations from the third evaluation report on Bosnia and Herzegovina by the Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) and the related Committee of the Parties’ recommendation.

The round-table meeting was organised by the Anti-Trafficking Division of the Council of Europe and the Sector for International Relations and European Integration of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which co-ordinates national action against human trafficking.

The discussions focused on trafficking victims’ access to legal assistance and compensation, the investigation and prosecution of human trafficking cases, the identification of victims of trafficking, and the provision of assistance and protection to them. Co-operation with civil society and engagement with the private sector in combating human trafficking were also discussed.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is expected to report to the Committee of the Parties on the measures taken to comply with its recommendations by 17 June 2024.
