25th meeting of the Committee of the Parties

The 25th meeting of the Committee of the Parties of the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings was held in Strasbourg on 18 October 2019.

The Committee adopted recommendations addressed to the Governments of Andorra, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania and Switzerland (second evaluation round), Liechtenstein (first/second evaluation round) and Turkey (first evaluation round).

The Committee also considered additional information submitted by the authorities of Armenia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Latvia, Malta, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal and Serbia concerning measures taken to comply with the Committee of the Parties’ second round recommendations on the implementation of the Convention.

Further, the Committee of the Parties decided to revise Rule 2.a of its Rules of procedure with a view to encouraging the participation in meetings of the Committee of national experts in the field of combating human trafficking.

On the occasion of the European Anti-Trafficking Day, the meeting was followed by a side-event organised by La Strada International and the Platform for International Co-operation on Undocumented Migrants (PICUM) on access to compensation and safe reporting mechanisms for victims of trafficking.
