Materials aiming to raise awareness on Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms (mediation and arbitration) and to promote these mechanisms among judges, lawyers, court staff, mediators, arbitrators, and general public, were published in the framework of the European Union-Council of Europe Joint Project on “Promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in Turkey”.
A practical handbook on mediation and arbitration was produced for mediators and lawyers to increase knowledge and awareness of the parties to the dispute about all features of mediation and arbitration processes. In addition, a guidebook on mediation and arbitration for judges and lawyers was prepared and information leaflets and posters targeting the general public were developed to support the effective implementation of these mechanisms.
The materials prepared with the contributions of a working group consisting of Ministry of Justice personnel, experts in different disciplines and representatives of the relevant stakeholders have been distributed to pilot courthouses, mediation bureaus and relevant organisations and they will be published on relevant websites.
In numbers:
- 5,000 practical handbooks (2,500 on mediation for lawyers, 2,500 on arbitration for mediators and lawyers),
- 3,000 guidebooks on mediation and arbitration for judges and lawyers,
- 40,000 public information leaflets (20,000 on mediation for the general public, 20,000 on arbitration for lawyers and business community),
- 2,000 posters (1,000 on mediation, 1,000 on arbitration).
