University lecture on ‘Individual Application to the Turkish Constitutional Court’ held in Akdeniz University

On 22 February 2024, the Joint Project on “Supporting the Effective Implementation of Turkish Constitutional Court Judgments in the Field of Fundamental Rights” organised a university lecture at the Faculty of Law, Akdeniz University. The lecture was delivered by Dr Ömer Gedik, Rapporteur of the Turkish Constitutional Court and Özgür Aydın, Assistant Professor at the Public Law Department of Akdeniz University.

The lecture focused on the individual application procedure to the Turkish Constitutional Court and emphasised the importance of the execution of the Constitutional Court judgments.

The event reached a high level of participation with nearly 200 students of the law faculty. During this interactive lecture, students had the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers and share their opinions. The presentation of the individual application statistics proved to be beneficial to convey the essence of the topic to the students. The lecture was organised as the seventh seminar in the framework of the Project.

 

The Joint Project on “Supporting the Effective Implementation of Turkish Constitutional Court Judgments in the Field of Fundamental Rights” is co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe. The Turkish Constitutional Court is the end beneficiary of the Project.
