Consultation on the Results of the Training Needs Analysis aimed at Family Courts

The results of the Training Needs Analysis conducted within the scope of the EU-CoE Joint Project entitled “Improving the Effectiveness of Family Courts: Better Protection of the Rights of Family Members” was evaluated by project stakeholders in the meeting held in Izmir on 24-25 June 2022.

Between October 2021 – April 2022, a desk-based review of the existing training materials and methods was undertaken, online surveys were conducted with the target groups and focus group meetings were held in order to assess the training needs of the project targets groups which include judges working in family courts, domestic violence bureau prosecutors, candidate judges and prosecutors, judicial support workers and auxiliary court personnel. Findings and outputs on the training needs of the target groups were presented in the Training Needs Analysis (TNA) Report by developing a concrete Training Action Plan and a Training Programme by the Council of Europe International Project Consultant, Ms Marina NAUMOVSKA.

In the two-day meeting held on 24-25 June 2022, feedback was received from the project stakeholders on the Training Action Plan and Training Programme presented in the TNA Report and it guided the development of the training programme in the field of family justice. Within this scope, family judges, candidate judges, judicial support workers and court personnel from various provinces, including Izmir, the pilot courthouse of the Project, and representatives of the CJP, Ministry of Justice, Justice Academy, UTBA and Izmir Bar Association identified the training priorities through working groups.

The comments and feedback from stakeholders will be compiled by the project consultant Ms Marina NAUMOVSKA in the Training Consultation and Development Report and appropriate changes will be made in the TNA Report. Thus, the TNA Report making recommendations on the topics of training modules and materials and effective methodologies and tools for each target group will be finalised as such.
