What alterations or additions to the existing international legal instruments might be warranted in order to better address the problem of violence against women? A UN convention which focuses specifically on the issue? A protocol to an existing UN convention? Additional regional conventions? Recommendations and interpretations of existing UN conventions by elected or appointed bodies or commissions? Or something else entirely? Or are the existing international legal instruments satisfactory as they are? A renowned panel of experts will discuss these issues and, if any alterations or additions are warranted, suggest what they should be.
