Seminar on the Revised Social Charter in Montenegro

[30/03/2011] A seminar will be held in Podgodrica (Montenegro) on 31 March 2011 in order to provide assistance in the drafting of the first report of this state under the Revised European Social Charter and to provide training of government officials and other legal professionals as well as representatives of civil society in the legal requirements of the Charter.

The first report will concern the accepted provisions of the thematic group on Employment, Training and Equal Opportunities, i.e. Articles 1 (right to work), 9 (Right to vocational guidance), 10 (Right to vocational training) 15 (Right of persons with disabilities to independence, social integration and participation in the life of the community), 20 (Right to equal opportunities and treatment in employment and occupation without sex discrimination) and 24 (Right to protection in case of dismissal).

Ms Monica Schlachter, Vice-President of the European Committee of Social Rights and Mrs Csilla Kollonay-Lehockzy, member of the Committee will attend the seminar, as well as Ms Gioia Scappucci, adminstrator in the Department of the European Social Charter.

The overall objective of this seminar is to ensure effectiveness of fundamental social rights in Montenegro.
