- Introduces the idea of a pan-European cultural heritage project to set the integrated conservation of the heritage within the context of trans-sectoral policies for the physical and human environment; Mentions the compilation of a periodically updated European directory of heritage policies and the development of a programme for exchanging information on policies; Launches the idea of developing a European network of Heritage skills and crafts managed by the Council of Europe.

Council of Europe Framework Convention on the Value of Cultural Heritage for Society (Faro, 27.10.2005)
- By signing the Faro Convention, Parties undertake to develop, through the Council of Europe, a monitoring function covering legislations, policies and practices concerning cultural heritage and to maintain, develop and contribute data to a shared information system, accessible to the public, which facilitates assessment of how each Party fulfils its commitments under the Convention.
