04.11.2011 – On 17 November 2011 the network of contact parliamentarians for the Council of Europe ONE in FIVE Campaign to stop sexual violence against children will meet in Florence. This event will be organised in co-operation between the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre in Florence.

Theme: the prevention of sexual violence against children

After successfully holding four meetings since January 2011, the 5th network meeting will discuss the theme of the prevention of sexual violence against children.

The parliamentarians will be invited to exchange their views and reflect on this topic with Ms de Boer-Buquicchio, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, and researchers of the UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre, as well as several international experts.

Otherwise, the 5th network meeting will feature the presentation of good national pratices by contact parliamentarians, respectively, for Italy, Germany, Portugal and Mexico.

This meeting will also be an opportunity to give a first overview of the achievements of the ONE in FIVE Campaign and of its parliamentary dimension.
