One in Five

European Commission steps up to protect for young people on Internet


06.12.2011 - Twenty-eight international businesses in the technological and media sector created a “coalition” on Thursday 1 December to better adapt the Internet to the needs of children and to make it safer.

The initiative is headed by the European Commission and the companies involved include Apple, BSkyB, BT, Dailymotion, Deutsche Telekom AG, Facebook, Google, Hyves, KPN, Liberty Global, LG Electronics, Mediaset, Microsoft, Netlog, Nintendo, Nokia, Opera Software, Orange, Research in Motion, RTL Group, Samsung, Sulake, Telefonica, TeliaSonera, Telenor Group, Tuenti, Vivendi and Vodafone.
