Newly released Barnardo’s publication on tackling child sexual exploitation

 

13.06.12 Barnardo’s has recently released a Guide on tacking child sexual exploitation, entitled “Helping Local Authorities to develop effective response”. This guide, available online, suggests how local authorities and other stakeholders can tackle child sexual exploitation, and it outlines some key elements of a comprehensive local response.

According to Barnardo’s there are 5 key elements of a comprehensive local response: raising awareness, understanding what is happening, developing a strategic response, supporting victims of exploitation, facilitating policing and prosecutions.

This guide gives examples of local areas that have demonstrated how these elements help tackling sexual exploitation.
