Local and regional authorities have an important role to play in setting up child-friendly multiagency and multidisciplinary centres to ensure that child victims of sexual violence are not subject to further abuse. Political will at this level is therefore extremely important.
The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe is invited to join the campaign by informing and motivating working groups and national associations for local and regional authorities. National associations can join the campaign teams in their respective member states of the Council of Europe.
At local level, national associations can organise discussions and seminars involving public and private education and child protection sectors, decision makers, media and parents to make local communities safe from sexual violence against children.
