Estonia accepts 8 additional provisions of the Charter

[09/07/2012] By a declaration from the President of Estonia contained in an instrument registered on 5 July 2012, Estonia gave notification of its acceptance of 8 additional provisions of the Revised Charter. These provisions include Article 30 (the right to protection against poverty and social exclusion) which is of particular significance in the current economic context.

The complete list of provisions recently accepted are as follows:

- Right to vocational training: apprenticeship (Article 10§2)
- Right to social and medical assistance: specific emergency assistance for non-residents (Article 13§4)
- Right to engage in a gainful occupation in the territory of other States Parties (Article 18§1, 2 and 4)
- Right to dignity in the workplace: protection from sexual and moral harassment (Article 26§§1 and 2)
- Right to protection against poverty and social exclusion (Article 30).

Following this notification, Estonia is bound by 87 of the 98 paragraphs of the Revised Charter.
