[18/09/2012] The European
Federation of National Organisations working with the Homeless
(FEANTSA) has lodged a complaint against The Netherlands,
registered as Complaint No. 86/2012.
The complaint was registered on 4 July 2012. The complainant
organisation alleges that The Netherlands' legislation, policy
and practice regarding sheltering the homeless is not in
compatible with the following provisions of the Charter:
- the right to social and medical assistance (Article 13),
- the right of the family to social, legal and economic protection
(Article 16), - the right of children and young persons to social, legal and economic protection
(Article 17), - the right of migrant workers and their families to protection and assistance
(Article 19), - the right to protection against poverty and social exclusion
(Article 30), and, - the right to housing
(Article 31), taken alone or in conjunction with
Article E of the European Social Charter.
