The Council of Europe Programme Office in Podgorica and the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Montenegro have signed an Agreement on the use of a data collected for research on peer violence, cyberbullying, and violence in schools in Montenegro.
The dataset was created within the project “Prevent bullying and violence in schools in Montenegro”, implemented by the Council of Europe and funded by Germany. The Agreement enables the Faculty of Philosophy to use this dataset for academic and scientific research purposes, including the preparation of scholarly papers, studies, and other professional publications.
The Agreement was signed by the Head of the Council of Europe Programme Office in Podgorica, Lejla Dervišagić, and the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Prof. Dr Tatjana Novović.
Further analysis of the data will generate new insights and contribute to improving policies and practices aimed at combating peer violence and violence in schools, which represents added value to the overall research and the project. Other scientific and academic institutions are invited to contact the Council of Europe project if they are interested in using this dataset for research purposes.
Dean Novović expressed her gratitude to the Council of Europe for granting access to the database, highlighting its importance for the academic community:
“This dataset represents a valuable resource for our professors and students, who will use it within their scientific research work, including the preparation of professional and academic publications. We believe that the results of these analyses will contribute to a better understanding of the phenomenon of violence among children and young people, as well as to the development of effective prevention measures.”
In accordance with the Agreement, the dataset will be used with full respect for research ethics standards and data protection. The database contains responses from 3,975 primary and secondary school pupils, 842 parents, and 1,025 school staff members, collected across 169 schools throughout Montenegro.
