The online course “Countering bullying and cyberbullying in school and educational environment” is now also available in the Montenegrin language. The objective of this course is to help participants better understand how bullying occurs within educational environments so that they can recognise and prevent it in a timely manner, while also developing educational activities that contribute to combating such behaviour and supporting the healthy development of all students.

Bullying can threaten students’ physical and emotional safety at school and can negatively impact their ability to learn. The best way to address bullying is to stop it before it starts. There are several things school staff can do to make schools safer and prevent bullying.

To help them with this task, the course Countering bullying and cyberbullying in school and educational environment presents the definition of bullying, ways to recognise it, and practical guidance on how to create and implement action plans for prevention within schools. Particular emphasis is placed on cooperation with parents, sharing knowledge and good practices with other schools, and strengthening anti-bullying networks at local and national levels.

Although the course is primarily intended for teachers, it is useful for everyone who wishes to learn more about this topic and better understand their role in preventing and combating violence.

The course was developed by the Education Department of the Council of Europe and translated and adapted through the projects “Prevent bullying and violence in schools in Montenegro”, financed by Germany, and “Quality education for all - Montenegro”, which is implemented within the framework of the joint programme of the European Union and the Council of Europe “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye”.
