She Matters is a social enterprise recruitment agency specialising in empowering refugee, migrant and asylum-seeking women to enter the labour market. Future in Hands

Street Carnival is an innovative project, initiated by ElMadina in 2013. The aim of the project is to facilitate, through street theatre performances inspired by the richness of the Displaced, Migrants and Refugees’ cultures, the ability of minority cultures to integrate with the main majority culture of the hosting society, in order to overcome social challenges.

The carnival works with the artists and participants in presenting these different cultures but also minor examples of shameful social behaviour, without going into ambiguous or contentious areas. The performances also tackle women challenges such as discrimination and sexual harassment.

The action focused on four community based organisations (CBO) which work on women’s empowerment in Mafraq and Irbid northern governorates, where populations have been significantly impacted by displacement and economic vulnerability.

The project ensures effective organisational and advocacy capacity building, as well as long-term improvement of the organisations' capacities to act as actors of change in their communities.

This intervention was specifically designed with a view to social accountability and inclusion, engaging women as active members of CBOs.

METAdrasi initiated an innovative programme in May 2017, ”Stepping Stone”, whose goal is to facilitate refugees and migrants integration through educational activities, vocational training and paid internships.

“Better future” aims to provide mental health support to refugee women and thus develop an understanding and improving coping mechanisms and resilience of women living in shelters or community. Through the conduction of group and individual counselling sessions, the organisation analyses the input from the beneficiaries, and provides multi-agency, person-centred support.

Comicipate is a project of a comic magazine developed by young artists to combat hate and violence which are manifesting through words online and through traditional media outlets. The Refugee Women's Centre (RWC) is a dynamic and fast growing organisation led by a small team of volunteers.The organisation supports displaced women and family units in settlements in Grande Synthe, Calais and across Northern France, namely through pop-up safe spaces. This is particularly difficult for women going through domestic violence who do not benefit from effective support from the police or social services and who are often unable to separate from their partner whilst in transit. For women travelling alone, the strong presence of smuggler networks creates a risk of sexual exploitation and/or trafficking.
