Investigative journalists from Chisinau and other Moldovan regions discuss reporting of corruption cases

The CLEP project organized two trainings for investigative journalists from the regions of the Republic of Moldova and young journalists from the capital. The first part of the training focused on relationship building with law enforcement, judiciary and public administration as well as court hearings reporting. The second part presented concrete cases, especially linking corruption, organized crime and public administration, where the investigative methodology and techniques were explained and discussed with the audience. The activity aimed at providing practical tools to Moldovan journalists to work more closely with public authorities and to run their investigations with modern techniques. Importantly, the staff of the National Integrity Authority provided a presentation of its mandate and ways for journalists to lodge complaints related to public officials. Fourteen participants (13 women and 1 man) took part in the event.
