A follow up workshop on “Political party and election campaign financing” took place on 24 November 2016. Representatives of the Ad-hoc Committee on Election Reforms, the Central Election Commission, the Delegation of the European Union to Albania, OSCE, NGOs and other International Organisations attended the workshop.
The event provided a venue to present a technical paper and recommendations developed by a Council of Europe expert taking into account the discussions from the initial workshop organised in October 2016.
The workshop was a concrete step to advance the agenda of the electoral reform and proposed some targeted amendments of the current regulations on political parties and election campaign financing. The active participation of the Co-chairs of the Ad-Hoc Parliamentary Committee on Election Reform and the Chair of the Central Election Commission is considered a clear signal of commitment to advance the electoral reform agenda in Albania
