Coaching and Mentoring Programme Pilot Successfully Completed

The Coaching and Mentoring Programme pilot of the Armenian Probation Service concluded with the certification of 15 trainers, marking the successful completion of the initiative and an important step towards its full implementation.

A two-day Refresher Training of Trainers held on 3–4 April 2026 brought together the trained facilitators who have been piloting the programme since September 2025. The session consolidated their experience, captured key lessons learned, and provided final recommendations to further refine the programme.

The pilot, which engaged 81 probation staff across Yerevan and regional offices, demonstrated clear benefits, including strengthened professional skills, improved use of evidence-based methods, and enhanced collaboration among staff. Key competencies developed included core correctional skills, cognitive behavioural approaches, and effective communication techniques.

Following its successful completion, the programme will continue to be implemented, including as a training component for Probation Service staff.

The activity was organised with the support of  the Council of Europe Project “Further Strengthening the Probation Service in Armenia” financed and implemented through the Council of Europe Action Plan Armenia (2023 – 2026).
