Discussing asset declarations and prevention of conflict of interest

Representatives of the Civil Service Bureau and specialized investigators from the General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia benefited from training on "Efficient monitoring of public officials' asset declarations and prevention of conflict of interest" which took place on 4-5 June in Tbilisi.

Participants discussed purpose of asset declarations and their verification, means of exposing unexplained wealth and providing assurance of integrity, stages of verification, methods of plausibility check as well as process of full audit.

Each topic was followed by case studies tailored to the needs of the participants conducting monitoring and verification asset declarations.

The activity is organised within the EU/CoE Partnership for Good Governance Project “Enhancing the systems of prevention and combating corruption, money laundering and terrorist financing in Georgia” (PGG II-GE), launched in January, 2019.
