Policing Hate Crime against LGBTI persons: Training for a Professional Police Response available in Georgian

The Council of Europe manual “Policing Hate Crime against LGBTI persons: Training for a Professional Police Response” is now available in Georgian. The manual is designed for police trainers, investigators, managers, to develop essential skills to identify and investigate hate crimes against LGBTI persons.

The Georgian version of the publication was adapted by the working group created at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the support of the Council of Europe co-operation Project “Fight against Discrimination, Hate Crimes and Hate Speech in Georgia”. The working group consisted of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Human Rights Protection and Investigation Monitoring Department at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Public Defenders Office. The adaptation process also involved the Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center (EMC), Women's Initiatives Supportive Group (WISG) and representatives of the Equality Movement.

This activity was conducted in the framework of the Council of Europe co-operation project “Fight against Discrimination, Hate Crimes and Hate Speech in Georgia”. The project is implemented under the Council of Europe’s Action Plan for Georgia 2020-2023 with the support of the Danish Neighbourhood Programme in Georgia (DANEP).
