Staff members of the case law department of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Supreme Court of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Supreme Court of Republika Srpska and Appellate Court of Brčko District and Judicial and Documentation Centre of High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina have started the course on Introduction to the European Convention on Human Rights and European Court of Human Rights. An online preparatory meeting was organised on 17 June 2020 to launch the course.
The course has been updated recently and includes an entirely new Module on the Execution of the Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, which has been adapted to the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The participants of the course will have the opportunity to advance their knowledge on inter alia the structure and interpreting the European Convention on Human Rights, functioning of the European Court of Human Rights, life of the application submitted before the European Court of Human Rights, as well as the process of execution of the European Court of Human Rights judgments.
The European Programme for Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) supports the Council of Europe member states in implementing the European Convention on Human Rights at the national level. The HELP methodology and resources are systematically used in all Council of Europe capacity building activities on the ECHR, organised in the beneficiary countries.
The HELP course is implemented under the project: “Initiative for Legal Certainty and Efficient Judiciary in Bosnia and Herzegovina” funded by the Kingdom of Norway.
