The project Strengthening Democratic Citizenship Education in Albania continues to build the capacities of teachers and school teams in pilot schools to prevent bullying through targeted training and support. In October, over 160 teachers, school teams, students, parents, and community members from nine primary and secondary schools in Shkodra, Elbasan, Durrës, and Kavajë participated in a training program on preventing bullying, violence, and extremism.
The interactive workshops covered types of bullying, its impact, prevention methods, and Albania’s legal and institutional framework on anti-bullying policies. The training aimed to raise awareness and equip participants with tools to create safer school environments through a collaborative, inclusive approach, while fostering a shared commitment and collaborative effort for more impactful results.
These sessions build on training started in October 2024, engaging school development teams in project pilot school. These activities are supported by student-led initiatives within schools, with broader approach aimed at reaching both students and communities throughout each participating school with messages to prevent and fight bullying.
The Council of Europe project Strengthening Democratic Citizenship Education in Albania, funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, aims to empower educators and school communities to foster inclusive, and safe, and democratic learning environments.
