Insights from North Macedonia's Quality Education for All Round Table for implementation of Education Strategy 2018 – 2025 with Schools and Local Government

In an important event organised by the "Quality Education for All – North Macedonia," representatives from 25 pilot schools came together to contribute in shaping the line of educational reform in the country. Emphasising inclusivity and excellence, the round table focused on the detailed analysis of the Education Strategy 2018 – 2025, as presented in a comprehensive mapping report.

The report's in-depth examination underscored the ongoing efforts to cultivate an inclusive and multicultural education system. Priorities included fostering democratic values, upholding human rights, ensuring gender equality, respecting diversity, and enhancing ethnic cohesion within the educational framework.

A crucial aspect of the discussions was the collaborative effort to implement inclusive and equitable education policies at both the local school and community levels. Valuable insights and recommendations from participants played a pivotal role in refining educational strategies recommendations to meet the diverse needs of the student population. The meeting concluded with a common agreement to integrate these insights into the final recommendations of the Mapping Report.

In tandem with the Mapping Report, the round table looked at competences for democratic culture and inclusion, recognising their pivotal role in shaping a more inclusive and effective education system. Participants actively contributed to discussions giving their perspectives, enriching the dialogue on fostering democratic principles and promoting inclusive learning environments.

The Council of Europe underscores its commitment to ensuring accessible, high-quality education for every individual in the country, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of North Macedonia and in partnership with schools and local government representatives. The "Quality Education for All - North Macedonia" project, implemented by the Council of Europe and funded by Germany, is set to run from December 2022 to November 2025. This collaborative initiative demonstrates the Council of Europe's dedication to advancing democratic standards in education and inclusivity on a national scale.
