Under the Joint Project “Reinforcing Judicial Expertise on Freedom of Expression and the Media in South-East Europe (JUFREX)” co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe, the Council of Europe, in co-operation with the Macedonian Institute for Media, organised a conference on “Political Pluralism in Media Reporting in the Period Outside of Election Campaign” that took place in Skopje on 24 January 2018.  The conference aimed at promoting a dialogue on the topic among key actors, including the media, CSOs, the media regulatory body, self-regulatory body and state institutions.

In addition to presentations made by a broad range of national experts, an international expert provided a comparative analysis on the dominant trends in Western European countries regarding political pluralism in media content. Presentations were followed by an open debate with participants.
