Portugal makes a voluntary contribution

The Government of Portugal has made a voluntary contribution of one hundred thousand euros (€100,000) to support the work of the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe. As a founding member state, this contribution reflects Portugal’s continued commitment to supporting democratic values and youth engagement through international cooperation.

This contribution will be allocated to two major projects of the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe. An amount of seventy-five thousand euros (€75,000) will support the project “HEY: Human Rights Education for Youth”, while the remaining twenty-five thousand euros (€25,000) will support “United for Values”.

On this occasion, Mr António Alves Machado, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of Portugal to the Council of Europe, met with Mr Bjørn Berge, Deputy Secretary General.

Consult the newsroom of the Directorate of Programme Co-ordination to learn more about other voluntary contributions to the Council of Europe.
