The program brings together young change-makers, academics, policymakers, and civil society representatives to engage in insightful discussions, workshops, meetings and networking opportunities. Beside the activities conducted by the partners, a joint programme will aim to create connections among participants of the different activities. The joint programme reinforces the intercultural dimension of the event, mixing both formal and non-formal education methodologies around the annual theme.

The UYD is a collaborative initiative that aims to empower and inspire young people from all around the world. The framework of the UYD allows to create an inclusive environment for young leaders who live together during one week, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and equipping participants with the skills and networks necessary to drive positive change in an interdependent world.

The UYD is part of the iLEGEND III Joint programme, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe, and implemented by the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe.
