The Network on Youth and Global Citizenship has launched the call for activities for the 2019 Universities:

- 7th Mediterranean University on Youth and Global Citizenship (9-16 June 2019)

- 20th University on Youth and Development (15-22 September 2019),

The “Universities” are international hubs for meeting, training and action planning, which gathers, for one week, hundreds of young people, youth workers, experts from the field and decision makers responsible for youth-related policies. During the week different organisations have the possibility to develop their own activities, such as training courses, workshops, seminars etc., within a common pedagogical framework which allows participants to debate, build their capacities and cooperate on youth policies’ issues.

For the year 2019, the theme is “Youth and Justice” as one of the three pillars of the Sustainable Development Goal 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions” which constitutes the 2018-2020 cycle’s umbrella theme. Through interactive discussions, meetings with decision makers, workshops with experts and other sessions based on non-formal education, the two universities will focus on how to ensure equal access to justice, guarantee the rule of law, promote social justice and advocate for youth rights.

This year, the University on Youth and Development will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Special guests and surprises are expected!

Application process for organisations

Youth-led or youth-related organisations from different regions are invited to propose activities to integrate the programme of the Universities: each organisation can participate with its staff and group of participants, developing its project, while the North-South Centre - in collaboration with the Network’s members - will provide the joint programme, encourage synergies, peer education, networking and advocacy opportunities related to the annual theme Youth and Justice.

Any organisation interested in proposing an activity for the Universities should fill the activity proposal form after having carefully read the concept note and the call for activities.
