As part of the capacity building activity for the public administration, the action on “Promotion of diversity and equality in Montenegro” co-operates with the Human Resource Management Authority to ensure that civil servants working at central and local level across the public institutions in Montenegro are better acquainted with the concept of equality and non-discrimination, thus enabled to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in their everyday work.
First batch of trainings for the civil servants employed at central level took place on 12 March 2021 online, whereby participants got familiar with the main principles in the area of anti-discrimination, as well as in reference to international and European standards and mechanisms, including the work of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance. The training was based on the Handbook on antidiscrimination law, which was previously developed also as part of the action on “Promotion of diversity and equality in Montenegro". The second batch of the trainings for civil servants employed at local level is planned for 23 April 2021.
The training program for civil servants in Montenegro is part of the action on “Promotion of diversity and equality in Montenegro”, that is a part of the joint European Union/Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”, implemented by the Anti-Discrimination Department of the Council of Europe.
