4-8/09/2012: Passing on the remembrance of the Holocaust and prevention of crimes against humanity. Tirana (Albania).
This workshop started with a ceremony to give an opportunity to the European Youth to pay tribute to those who saved the honour of Human kind during the Holocaust.
These events afforded an opportunity to highlight the Albanian muslim population's exceptional attitude to its Jewish population during the war, to raise awareness, among participants, particularly the younger ones, of the citizens' reflex shown by those persons who saved Jews’ lives, and to grasp what the witnesses present had experienced. They also enabled a group of around 30 teachers to improve their skills in the passing on of the remembrance of the Holocaust.

The one who forgets its past is doomed to live it again."

Others European Workshops
Several other workshops have been organised in close cooperation with the host countries. Some of them took place in the framework of the Council of Europe “Pestalozzi” training programme for education professionals. They aimed at giving teachers the opportunity :
- to deepen their knowledge of the history of the Holocaust and prevention of crimes against humanity;
- provide them with information and appropriate facilities vis-à-vis new teaching methods,
- make them aware of the history of the Holocaust in the other member states,
- exchange innovatory practices and acquire a Europe-wide vision of Holocaust-related events.
This exchange dimension has been one of the most valuable inputs from these seminars.
