International standards and mechanisms in combating and preventing discrimination, including those by the European Court of Human Rights and Council of Europe’s monitoring bodies are at the core of the HELP online courses on protection against discrimination.
To strengthen the capacity of all the relevant actors in Bosnia and Herzegovina to identify and address the issues of discrimination on various grounds, the HELP courses on Anti-discrimination and Fight against racism, xenophobia, homophobia and transphobia have been launched for three groups on 7-9 February in Banja Luka and Sarajevo.
Firstly, the HELP course on Anti-discrimination was launched for staff members of the Institution of Human Rights Ombudsman in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Furthermore, the long-lasting cooperation between the Centre for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of the Republika Srpska and Centre for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and HELP in the Western Balkans, in the framework of the Action “Strengthening the Human Rights Ombudsman to fight discrimination”, continued with the launch of the HELP course on Anti-discrimination for judges and prosecutors.
Finally, the HELP online courses on Anti-discrimination and Fight against racism, homophobia and transphobia were launched for the staff members of the Agency for Gender Equality of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Gender Centres of Republika Srpska and Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Due to the relevance to their daily work, the HELP course on Violence against women and domestic violence will be made available to participants.
The HELP courses are implemented within the framework of the Action “Strengthening the Human Rights Ombudsman to fight discrimination” – a part of the joint programme between the European Union and the Council of Europe: “Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey”.
