On 11 July, a certificate award ceremony was organised in Podgorica to mark the successful completion of the HELP online course on Child-friendly justice by a group of 57 judges and prosecutors. The HELP course was implemented in the framework of the HELP in the Western Balkans project (funded by the Human Rights Trust Fund) thanks to the long-lasting cooperation with the Centre for Training in Judiciary and State Prosecution of Montenegro.

Following the official launch on 1 April 2019, participants attended the online course in Montenegrin under the supervisor of the HELP national tutors, Milenka Žižić, Appellate Court Judge, and Danka Djerić, Public Prosecutor. HELP national tutors are crucial for the successful implementation of the course since they complemented the HELP course with the national version and they moderated the course online.

The HELP course on Child-friendly justice was developed in 2017 as a joint initiative between the Council of Europe Children’s Rights Division and the HELP Programme with the aim to strengthen and harmonise the knowledge of the relevant European standards on child-friendly justice across the Council of Europe member states (by focusing on the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers Guidelines on Child-friendly justice). The Montenegrin version of the HELP online course will be shortly available as a self-paced material.
