The meeting was organised by the Department of the European Social Charter, DG I - Council of Europe and the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, in cooperation with the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
Mykola Shambir, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Social Policy, gave an opening statement. Natalia Popova, Head of International Relations Department, Ministry of Social Policy, chaired the meeting.
Presentations were given by Lauri Leppik, former member of the ECSR, Karolina Kirincic Andritsou, Vice-Chair of the Bureau of the Governmental Committee and Valeria Nesterenko, Statistician, Social Protection Department, ILO.
Sergiy Savchuk, National Coordinator for Ukraine, ILO, participated in the meeting. The Department of the European Social Charter was represented by Régis Brillat and Sheila Hirschinger.
Explanations were provided on the European Code of Social Security (which was signed by Ukraine in November 2016), ILO Convention 102 and relevant Articles of the European Social Charter.
Deputy Minister Oleksandra Churkina closed the meeting and indicated the wish of the Ukrainian authorities to continue and develop cooperation with the Council of Europe in the field of social rights.
