Back Second meeting of the European Social Cohesion Platform

Second meeting of the European Social Cohesion Platform

The European Social Cohesion Platform (PECS) met for the second time on 19-20 September 2017, in Strasbourg. The meeting focused on the finalisation of the implementation of its mandate 2016-2017 and on possible future orientations.

The Platform was created as an ad hoc committee to respond to the request of several member States of the Council of Europe to create an intergovernmental structure to accompany the efforts of integration of the social aspects in the Council of Europe activities. It has a two-year mandate and is open to all member States, bodies and institutions of the Council of Europe, but also to international organisations and other relevant stakeholders. This year, the Platform was the subject of the Interim Report of the Secretary General SG/Inf (2017)3.
