Results of the Moot Court Competition on the European Social Charter

The third edition of the Moot Court Competition on the European Social Charter took place at the University Jean Moulin Lyon 3 on 26 March 2024, in the framework of the competition organised by the French section of the Academic Network on the European Social Charter and Social Rights.

At the end of the oral pleadings, it was the University of Rouen Normandie Second (France)  and the University of University Jean Moulin Lyon 3 that faced each other in the grand finale. The University of Rouen Normandie (France) won the competition. Its team members were: Johanna BERGTHALER, Prune EL-DABI-BUCAILLE, Margot REBULET.

The prize for the Best litigator was awarded to Marketa MACAKOVA from Charles University Prague and the Best written submission prize was awarded to UC Louvain Saint-Louis University.

The Jury of this competition commended all the participating teams for their dedication, passion and scholarly pursuit of understanding and applying the intricate mechanisms of international law, particularly in the area of human rights protection. Their preparation and the quality of all their pleadings reflect their commitment to academic excellence, but also their willingness to tackle complex legal issues with real-world implications. The Jury also warmly welcomes the knowledge of the participants about the provisions of the European Social Charter and its procedures.
