Workshop on Ensuring the integrity during the electoral process

As a part of cooperation programme to support more transparent, fair and inclusive electoral processes in the Republic of Moldova, a high level workshop and training is taking place in Vienna on 21-22 November 2018 and is devoted to ensuring the integrity during the electoral process.

The principal matters covered are voting from abroad, the role of political parties to ensure free and fair elections, media campaign and electoral process, voter registration as a key element of the elections, gender equality during the electoral process.

An opportunity is also taken to discuss the strategic planning and prioritisation of electoral cooperation and the Council of Europe proposed methodology based on principles of usefulness, relevance, sustainability and ownership by the beneficiary (URSO for electoral cooperation).

The participants are also exposed to the best European practices in the above areas through contributions by the Council of Europe experts from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France and Italy. A separate set of discussions is taking place with the leadership of the CEC of ATU Gagauz as concern the CoE support to develop a roadmap and strategic plan for the ATU Gagauz electoral authorities.
