Brief description of the initiative:
This award recognises a project that has been of great benefit to many people over the last few decades. The volunteering opportunities afforded by REMPART have had the two fold effect of educating and training many volunteers in the fascinating area of heritage and conservation as well as bringing about some excellent opportunities for social development and cohesion as a result of the community-spirited environment and integration opportunities that the volunteering projects invoke. REMPART has also provided an incentive to develop reciprocal communication with the volunteers and with restoration specialists – the result of which is raised levels of scientific achievements and training.
