At their 1528th meeting on 7 May, the Ministers’ Deputies continued their preparation of the 134th Session of the Committee of Ministers (Luxembourg, 13-14 May 2025). On 14 May, the opening and closing of the Session, the handover of the presidency and the press conference will be livestreamed on the website of the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and on the Luxembourg government's YouTube channel.
The Deputies adopted a Recommendation to member States on the social, economic, and political participation of rural youth, encouraging European states to remove barriers and create new opportunities for young people [more information …].
They also adopted a reply by the Committee of Ministers to Parliamentary Assembly Recommendation 2259 (2023) on “The role of the Council of Europe in preventing conflicts, restoring credibility of international institutions and promoting global peace”, which highlights various Council of Europe initiatives, such as developing tools for democratic security, supporting accountability for the aggression against Ukraine, and fostering international cooperation.
