At the Ministers Deputies’ 1388th meeting, on 12 November, 17 member States* Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Cyprus, France, Georgia, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, North Macedonia, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey decided to establish an Observatory on History Teaching in Europe, as an Enlarged Partial Agreement. The Observatory’s main purpose will be to collect and make available, through a series of regular and thematic reports, factual information on the ways in which history is taught in all participating countries [more information …].
On the occasion of the 6th edition of the European Day on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse (18 November), 6 member States* Andorra, Belgium, Luxembourg, Monaco, San Marino and Slovenia issued a joint statement, which was supported by the 41 other member States* Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Malta, Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and United Kingdom. The Deputies also held an exchange of views with Mr Shay Cullen, founder of the PREDA (People's Recovery Empowerment Development Assistance) Foundation.
In addition, the Deputies held exchanges of views with:
- His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Holy See’s observer status with the Council of Europe;
- the External Auditor, Mr Pierre Moscovici, First President of the Cour des Comptes, Supreme Audit Institution of France, concerning the Council of Europe annual accounts for 2019.
