In the context of the 70th anniversary of the Council of Europe under the general slogan "Our Rights, Our Freedoms, Our Europe", the Council of Europe Office in Chisinau in cooperation with the National Library of the Republic of Moldova organised on 8 May an Exhibition – event celebrating 70 years of the Council of Europe history and work.

The exhibition features publications and documents on the history, policies, priorities and achievements of the Council of Europe in the fields of human rights, democracy, justice, rule of law, children, youth, culture, education, etc. As well as, visitors can get information on the partnership and cooperation between the Council of Europe and the Republic of Moldova, including the projects implemented in and for the Republic of Moldova.

A special place in the event holds the launching of the „Walking through history at Council of Europe exhibition”, retracing 70 years in the history of the Council of Europe and illustrating the stages of European construction, which represents the Romanian - Russian version of the anniversary exhibition inaugurated at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on 8 April 2019.

Tatiana Molcean, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, William Massolin, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Chisinau, Pascal Le Deunff, Ambassador of France to the Republic of Moldova, Elena Pintilei, General Director of the National Library inaugurated the exhibition. The event was attended by Ambassadors of the Council of Europe member states and Heads of International Organisations accredited in Moldova, mass media, students and the general public.

The Exhibition will be open to the public in the period 8 May - 30 June at the National Library of the Republic of Moldova.
