Raise awareness about keeping children safe online

Within the Council of Europe project Combating violence against children in the Republic of Moldova a grant agreement to raise awareness about keeping children safe online was signed with the International Centre “La Strada” Moldova. The grant agreement aims to encourage children to speak out about online sexual abuse, by creating a safe environment, with people who are ready to listen without blaming and have positive and supporting child-oriented attitude.

Under this agreement several activities will be implemented in the period of September 2020 until the end of February 2021. Among the main activities, the International Centre “La Strada” Moldova will deliver two online training workshops for at least 100 teachers from the entire country about online safety of children in the educational process; develop two didactical materials for teachers to support parents in keeping children safe online; organize webinars for teachers aiming at raising awareness about child safety online for primary school and gymnasium school teachers from all the country; disseminate Council of Europe awareness raising and informational materials aiming at promoting child safety online and protect children from online sexual abuse; etc.

The activity is implemented within the first immediate outcome of the project:” increased awareness on child sexual abuse and exploitation and the rights of the child in the digital environment”.
