Informative Webinars for teachers on online child sexual abuse and exploitation

In the period of 22-23 October 2020 two informative webinars are organised by the International Centre “La Strada” in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, within a grant agreement with the Council of Europe Project “Combating violence against children in the Republic of Moldova”. The webinars are broadcasted live on YouTube and about 500 teachers from primary and secondary schools from all over the country have registered to watch the online events.

The aim of the first webinar is to make aware the teachers on online risks for children during the educational process and modalities to prevent them. The purpose of the second webinar is to present the intervention measures to be undertaken in cases of online child sexual abuse or exploitation.

During webinars, the Council of Europe materials will be presented and provided to participants, in particular the Internet Literacy Handbook for teachers. The Handbook presents the principal facets of the Internet, from essential information on how it works and where data is stored, to finding quality information and connecting with people and knowledge, to getting assistance and looking ahead at where online technology may take people next.

Activities implemented within the grant agreement with the International centre “La Strada” contribute towards achieving the Project’s immediate outcome 1 “Increased awareness on child sexual abuse and exploitation and the rights of the child in the digital environment”.
