The training sessions on trauma treatment and prevention of burnout for school teachers continue in the North of the country

From 11 to 12 March 2024, 30 school teachers from educational institutions from Bălți municipality and Drochia, Glodeni, Rîșcani and Fălești districts participated in a two-day training seminar on providing psychological support to children and adolescents who have experienced traumatic events and prevention of burnout. The seminar was carried out by four experts from the National Centre for Psycho-pedagogical Assistance, under the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, who had strengthened their professional skills in previous trainings organised by the Council of Europe.

The training was designed in an interactive format and had a twofold objective. Firstly, to support teachers and staff working in education in providing assistance to children who have experienced traumatic events with a view to strengthen children’s resilience. Secondly, to strengthen the self-care skills of professionals and equip them with efficient coping techniques to prevent burnout.

Similar training sessions will be organised in May 2024 in Cantemir city. In total more than 100 teaching staff will benefit from such trainings.

The training was carried out in the framework of the Council of Europe Project on “Strengthening the human rights protection of refugees and migrants in the Republic of Moldova”. The Project is funded and implemented under the Council of Europe Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova for 2021-2024.
