Back Presenting CP4Europe Project achievements and recommendations related to child participation

The European Union - Council of Europe Joint Project “CP4Europe - Strengthening National Child Participation Frameworks and Action in Europe” will hold its Final Conference "NextGen Europe: Unleashing Youth Voices”. The event is organised by the Council of Europe Children’s Rights Division and will take place on 5-7 June in Strasbourg, France.

The objective of the Conference is to celebrate the results of the CP4Europe partner countries (the Czech Republic, Finland, Iceland, Portugal and Slovenia), and present the key deliverables (Child-friendly CPAT, outcome indicators, child-friendly campaign, Guidelines to develop national child participation strategy, Guide for decision makers to involve children in decision making process, capacity building materials for professionals working with children and the CP4Europe web-platform), as well as children’s recommendations to the Sub-Committee on Children of the Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe aiming to further strengthen child participation across Europe.

The Conference has been designed together with children and will see the participation of young people and adults, including 15 girls and boys from the five CP4Europe country partners who have been engaged throughout the project in a wide range of activities, as well as children from “La Maison du jeune et du citoyen” of Schiltigheim. In addition to presentations and discussions, participants will have an opportunity to interact, explore the city of Strasbourg, visit Council of Europe premises and the European Parliament, and hold recreational activities. Finally, the Fondation Réné Cassin will facilitate a session on refugee rights for children participating in the event.

  • Ms Danielle Dambach, Mayor of Schiltigheim
