The Rabat Bar Association, CEPEJ, and the Council of Europe Office in Morocco jointly organized a human rights moot court competition on October 30, 2025, at the Lawyers’ Club in Rabat. The event brought together numerous legal professionals.
This competition is part of the Open University for Human Rights founded in memory of the late Dr. Abdelaziz Nouidi. The initiative aims to train over 400 young lawyers in the defense of human rights through a specialized program covering key topics such as digital violence against women, human trafficking, alternative sentencing, and access to justice in the context of digitalization.
By giving young lawyers, the opportunity to plead on major issues, the competition aims to promote a culture of human rights within judicial practice and to highlight their role as agents of justice and citizenship. Three finalists were recognized at the conclusion of the competition for their pleadings on the themes of digital violence against women and human trafficking.
This initiative is part of the MA-JUST program “Towards a More Protective, Accessible and Effective Justice in Morocco,” co-financed by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the latter.
