From June 30 to July 2, a delegation of CEPEJ experts from France, Belgium, and Portugal carried out a mission at two Moroccan pilot courts: the Court of First Instance of Marrakech and the Commercial Court of Fès. This visit is part of the ongoing missions carried out by CEPEJ since October 2024 in courts designated as pilot jurisdictions under the MAJUST project, which aims to support the efforts of Moroccan partners to improve judicial efficiency and promote best practices in court management.
During the mission, meetings were held with judicial officials, court clerks, and administrative staff. These exchanges made it possible to assess the specific characteristics of each court, particularly regarding judicial statistics, organizational functioning, and needs related to modernization and digitization of procedures. Based on this assessment, concrete recommendations adapted to local realities will be developed, and their implementation will be supported to address the identified challenges and reinforce the ongoing reform efforts.
This visit is organized under the project “Towards a more protective, accessible and efficient justice in Morocco” (MAJUST), co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
