March 2018 - December 2020

The activities carried out by the CEPEJ within the framework of joint Programme “Ensuring sustainable democratic governance and human rights in the Southern Mediterranean” (South Programme 3), are co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe.

The "CEPEJ-South Programme III project: Ensuring Sustainable Democratic Governance and Human Rights in the Southern Mediterranean"  aims at promoting the independence, efficiency and quality of justice in the MENA region (mainly in Morocco and Tunisia, but also in Jordan) by improving the functioning of the courts and supporting the implementation of judicial reforms and the revision of relevant normative frameworks in conformity with European standards. The "CEPEJ-South III Programme" project follows the projects carried out by the CEPEJ since 2012 in the region, and aims to deepen, develop and perpetuate the actions implemented within the framework of these projects.

The CEPEJ and the Council of State of Egypt organise a workshop on conducting satisfaction surveys aimed at court users

The European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) is organising a workshop for judges and staff of the Egyptian Council of State on conducting satisfaction surveys aimed at court users in Cairo (Egypt), on 18 February 2020.

The workshop will be opened by the President of the Egyptian Council of State, Judge Mohamed Hossan Eldee, in the presence of representatives of the Delegation of the European Union in Cairo. Eminent international experts of the CEPEJ as well as the President of the Working Group on Quality of Justice will participate in this workshop.

The objective of the workshop is to introduce the participants from Council of State to the objectives and prerequisites of the dialogue with court users, primarily through conducting satisfaction surveys. CEPEJ pays particular attention to taking into account users’ expectations on the functioning of the courts and to conducting satisfaction surveys as a means to identify these expectations and to increase the quality of justice and courts. In this regard, CEPEJ developed the “Handbook for conducting satisfaction surveys aimed at Court users in Council of Europe member States”. The workshop should allow an exchange on good practices and lessons learned from implementation of court users’ satisfaction surveys, as well as concrete and practical discussions on the organisation and conduct of satisfaction surveys.

This activity is organised in the framework of the Programme "Ensuring the sustainability of democratic governance and human rights in the Southern Mediterranean" (South III Programme), financed by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
